Between August 10 and 16, 2024, several terrorist attacks attributed to Boko Haram were recorded in the Far North region (departments of Mayo-Sava, Mayo-Tsanaga and Logone-et-Chari). Kidnappings, looting, attacks and two homicides have been reported.
The Defense and Security Forces (FDS) intervened in several of these attacks, neutralizing at least four terrorists and arresting four others. Military equipment and property stolen by the attackers were also seized.
Despite this, the security risk in the Far North region remains high.
